The Finger Lakes in Upper New York State have long been recognized for the excellence of their trails, the abundance of diverse and interesting sites and the warmth of the locals.
You are invited to joining Novack's Avid Traveller over our Victoria Day weekend as we spend three nights and four days exploring the scenic and historic region that encompasses Livingston County. From our base in Mount Morris, we will travel through the Conesus and Hemlock Lake areas, the historic villages and visit a winery for a tasting of the famous local wine.
We will venture through Letchworth State Park (which spans over 14 thousand acres and includes stunning waterfalls known as the "Grand Canyon of the East"), the Mount Morris dam and the William B Hoyt visitor centre. The abundance of options in the area will make this escorted tour one to be long remembered on our first Avid Traveller tour to the magnificent Finger Lakes!
Meet Our Tour Leaders
Charles Whitlock has led walking tours for Novack's Avid Traveller for over a decade. Most recently he led a wonderful tour to Vimy, Guernsey and South Downs in France and England. He is also known for his expertise on the Bruce Trail, and has also hiked Waterton National Park, Lake Louise National Park, Jasper AB, the Adirondack Mountains and the White Mountains. Charles has visited the Finger Lakes region recently and is very excited to revisit this beautiful and challenging area. He is a certified Wilderness First Responder through Wilderness Medical Associates.
Lindsay Jackson is the Coordinator of the Novack's Avid Traveller program and has travelled extensively in Europe and Canada. More recent travel experiences include co-leading tours to France and Italy as well as the Bruce Trail. A real "people person", Lindsay is looking forward to seeing previous hikers and meeting new Novack's Avid Travellers on this tour. She is a certified First Aid responder through the St. John's Ambulance.
