The Camino de Santiago

October 12 - 26, 2012

Camino de Santiago

The perfect balance between tradition and comfort & safety

The Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James) orginated as a medieval pilgrimage and for more than 1000 years people have set off on this adventure of a lifetime. With the recent popularity of the movie, "The Way", the Camino is as popular as ever. The Camino is on most people's "bucket list", but the traditional way of walking the Camino is not for everyone.

For example:

  • What if you can't schedule 5-6 weeks away from work, family & other responsibilites?
  • Walking 20 - 40 km a day can be challenging for many with health problems. Also, what if you hurt yourself while walking? Twisted ankles and shin splints are not uncommon. What would you do?
  • Sleeping on a cot in crowded and noisy room may not be your cup of tea. And let's not even begin to talk about sharing a bathroom with 30 of your closest friends.
  • There are many travel companies that offer Camino tours. But these tours remove most, if not all, of the authenticity from the Camino experience. There are horror stories of buses with 50 people being dropped off at the last leg of the Camino just so that they are eligable for certificates called a "Santiago de Compostela". Likewise, there are tour companies who drive you all around the route, rendering their guests completely ineligable for this special document.

So, you know what we did? We developed a tour with the best of both world!

This tour is a completely unique experience designed by Novack's. Unlike other tours, a combination of walking and driving will allow you to see the entire Camino route from Roncesvalles to Finisterre.

The tour will be conducted in three stages:

Stage 1) Will have us walking from Roncesvalles to Lorca.

Stage 2) We will be transferred by bus from Lorca to Sarria, stopping to see the beautiful cities of Leon & Burgos and all important sites along the way.

Stage 3) From Sarria we will walk to Santiago, which will make us eligable to collect a Compostela certificate upon arrival.

Walking days vary between 13kms and 28kms. However, a support van is available for those who do not wish to walk on any given day - or only wish to walk a portion. Our baggage will be transferred daily, requiring you to only carry what you need in a day-pack.

This is an extra-ordinary tour opportunity and a first-time experience for Novack's, to one of the most picturesque, sought-after destinations for walking in Spain. Don’t delay – this tour is sure to sell-out
