ITINERARY

Mother and Child

Day 1— Wednesday, October 23, 2013 - Lima
Upon our group arrival we will be transferred to our hotel for check-in and overnight.

Accommodations: Costa Del Sol Ramada Airport Hotel or similar

Day 2 – Thursday, October 24 – Cusco
After breakfast transfer back to the Lima airport for a flight to Cusco. Private tranfer to our centrally located first class hotel. Upon arrival in Cusco time will permit rest and relaxation to acclimatize to the elevation. Enjoy a short orientation walking tour of the city centre prior to dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3 – Friday, October 25 - Cusco
Cuzco is the continent’s oldest continuously inhabited city, and the hub of the South American travel network. The city attracts travelers who come not just to visit a unique destination but also to experience an age-old culture very different from their 20th century way of life; one could easily spend a week just in and around the area. Inca-built stone walls line most of the central streets and one doesn’t have to go far to see other major Inca ruins. It is a city steeped in history, tradition and legend.
Today we have a full day tour of Cusco and the surrounding area including excursions to Saqsaywaman & Tambomachay, the military outpost of Puca Pucara and the amphithea-ter of Kenko. Return to Cusco for dinner on your own at leisure.

Day 4 – Saturday, October 26 – Cusco - Sacred Valley
Enjoy a full day tour of the Sacred Valley as we embark on a journey to visit the impres-sive Pisac ruins. We’ll watch demonstrations of traditional weaving and walk the colourful artisan market. We stop for a group lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley. Tonight you’ll stay in the beautiful Sacred Valley and enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Machu Picchu

Day 5 – Sunday, October 27 - Aguas Calientes
This morning we have a tour of Ollantay-tambo, a fortress built during the Inco
Empire. After lunch we travel by the “Vistadome” train for a breaktaking ride through the Urubamba Valley to the village of Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival we will check into our hotel and then enjoy time at leisure. Dinner at hotel.

Day 6 – Monday, October 28 - Machu Picchu
We rise very early this morning to board a bus to the historic spiritual centre of the Incas, the “Lost City of the Incas” Machu Picchu. Enjoy our private guided tour through this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The remainder of the day will be at leisure for you to enjoy the mysteries of these majestic ruins. Dinner at hotel.

Day 7 – Tuesday, October 29 – Cusco
This morning you will travel by vista dome train to Ollantaytambo. You will then be transferred by van or bus to visit Moray Ruins before continuing on to Cusco.

Day 8 – Wednesday, October 30 – Puno
Today you will fly from Cusco to Juliaca and transfer by bus to the lakeside town of Puno. You will have some time at leisure to explore this town on your own. Dinner together at hotel.

Day 9 – Thursday, October 31 - Lake Titicaca
Lake Titicaca is the highest navigable lake in the world and home to many fascinating cul-tures. Today you take a boat ride on Lake Titicaca to visit the Uros people living on the floating reed islands. Return to Puno where you will be picked up by bikes and taken on a walking tour of Puno. Dinner at hotel.

Day 10 – Friday, November 1 – Lima
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival you will have a guided tour of this “City of Kings” including a visit to the Larco Herrera Museum. Tonight enjoy a group farewell dinner as we reminisce about the memories of our trip through Peru. Transfer back to Lima airport for onward journey home arriv-ing in Toronto, Nov 2 in the afternoon.
