Our Avid Travellers and I arrived in Kelowna yesterday and I thought I should give you a quick update as to what we have been up to!
After arriving, we headed straight to a tour of the Okanagan Heritage Museum and Orchard (read: Wine) Museum. Our guide was fantastic and we learned the proper technique for wine tasting. We finished the night with a great dinner at Raudz restaurant where their aim to is provide fresh local food. I tried Wild Boar and it was tender and tasted kind of like pork. We were joined by a retired wine expert named Doug and his wife. They gave us a lot of great tips that we got to use today when we visited a few wineries in the area.
We stopped by Mission Hill, Quail’s Gate, Summerhill Pyramid, St. Hubertus & Cedar Creek. We also managed to squeeze in a stop at a goat farm where they create amazing cheeses. Tomorrow is a big hiking day for us, where we will trek on a portion of the Kettle Valley Railway.
A picture says a thousand words and I have to run, so I will let some pictures from today to the rest of the talking!
